Karlskirche Vienna Kreuzherrengasse 1, 1040 Vienna. In pre-Christmas mood, you will hear the most famous songs from the repertoire of The Christmas Gospel. The selected voices of the Christmas Gospel present these with unmatched intensity and quality. The early years The roots of black gospels and spirituals date back to the early 18th century. At that time, African slaves developed their first English-language hymns in the foreign land of America. Back then, they still held their own moral ideas and religious beliefs. The history of the ensemble Almost twenty years we have traveled through the USA to proclaim the joyful message in churches and theaters. During this time, I had the opportunity to experience some of the best gospel singers America has to offer. But wherever my travels took me, I always kept my ears open. In my own community in Harlem, the dream arose to bring together some of the best American gospel singers as a group so they could convey their spiritual fire to brothers and sisters in Europe. Thanks to the help of our producers and organizers, we can now live this dream. When the singers of the ensemble "The Christmas Gospel" raise their crystal-clear voices to the highest registers at both the beginning and the end of the concert, a shiver regularly runs through the audience. That is the spirit of gospel - a common opinion about the performance of "The Christmas Gospel". But the classics of gospel like "Oh Happy Day", "Amazing Grace", and "When the Saints" are naturally part of the ensemble's repertoire, which impresses especially through the balance of female and male voices. Gospel - classical and modern soul ballads - feeling and temperament combine here to create a fascinating experience. The diverse experiences The Christmas Gospel has gathered on stage, as well as their well-known knack for selecting singers, lead us to expect sold-out churches and concert halls during their upcoming tour in Germany and Austria after over 500 concerts from 2000 to 2025. It is a concert - but the atmosphere of the famous services of Black Churches makes the audience part of the "community" during the large Austria tour in 2025. It is the joyful reflection that makes these Christmas Gospel concerts an extraordinary event.
