Styrian Klezmore Orchestra ft. Sandy Lopicic & Vesna Petkovic
What's it about?
Collective energy meets individual expression: The Styrian Klezmore Orchestra, led by clarinetist Moritz Weiß, combines klezmer, Jewish, and Eastern and Southeastern European music with new compositions, jazz improvisations, and great joy of playing. Tradition and modernity merge on May 14, 2027, at forumKLOSTER Gleisdorf into a multifaceted sound world that touches and excites alike. With the program "Balkanology," the ensemble embarks on a musical research journey through the complex soundscapes of the Balkans. Archaisch melodies, irregular rhythms, and lively dance music meet jazzy arrangements, creating an exciting dialogue between melancholy and exuberant joie de vivre. Together with Sandy Lopicic (piano & arrangements) and Vesna Petkovic (vocals), an extraordinary concert experience emerges that connects cultural roots with contemporary creativity.
