Roland Neuwirth & radio.string.quartet - "Erd´" Roland Neuwirth endured 19 months and four days of stage abstinence after his farewell from the Extremschrammeln. But then a befriended promoter asked him if he would like to play at his festival, in whatever line-up. Neuwirth agreed. However, he did not perform with his former ensemble, the Neuwirth Extremschrammeln, which have been (music) history since the end of 2016, but with the radio.string.quartet. A string quartet whose work he had long greatly appreciated. The program included Neuwirth classics as well as some new compositions, arranged by the musicians of the r.s.q. and Roland Neuwirth himself. The combination of string quartet and new arrangements elevates Neuwirth's songs to a completely different, special level. At first sometimes irritating, as if one were looking at them in a distorting mirror, but then, as if under a magnifying glass, sharper and richer in contour. This makes listening or re-listening incredibly exciting.
