Ross auslassen auf der Sommeralm 2027

What's it about?

The 'Summer Break' for the horses begins on the first weekend of June with the traditional 'Ross auslassen' (horse release) on the Sommeralm, at Plankogel, and near the Windrad. Every year, a power struggle among the horses takes place here as they reclaim their grazing area. Noriker horses meet agile Haflingers, and the strongest among the horses immediately establish who the new 'boss' on the Alm is. It is a spectacle worth seeing, not only for horse lovers. There is also a cozy Almfest (alpine festival) with plenty of culinary delights, regional products, and of course, a magnificent 360-degree view far beyond the Almenland Nature Park. The horses will be released onto the pastures around 10:00 AM.
