The folk musician as a jazz trumpeter: Franz Posch & Dixielanders Hall Franz Posch is a folk musician with heart and soul. He hosts the popular TV show "Mei liabste Weis" on ORF and also passionately plays folk music tunes, dances, and marches with the folk music and dance group "Franz Posch & seine Innbrüggler". But who knows that Franz Posch was and is again one of Tyrol's most gifted jazz trumpeters: Because the presenter, music teacher, and full-blooded musician is playing again with his "Dixielanders Hall", which he founded in 1987 with Bernhard Fauster and Bertl Posch. Since then, the Dixielanders Hall have delighted audiences with sounds that originate from the cradle of jazz in New Orleans and extend through the swing era of the 30s. With seven CD releases, including two live recordings, and a multitude of international tours, the Dixielanders Hall have left an impressive mark on the music scene. Unforgettable are the joint concerts with greats such as the Chris Barber Jazz Band, trumpeter Oscar Klein, singer Sandy Lomax, and the Dukes of Dixieland from New Orleans. Since September 2025, the band has been playing almost in its original line-up from 1987 again, and of course also at the Dixie- & Swingfestival Weiz 2026: Line-up: Bernhard Fauster (cl, sax) Franz Posch (tp) Benny Schafferer (tb) Bertl Posch (bj) Georg Nolf (db, tba) Peter Penz (dr)
