Wiener Comedian Harmonists
What's it about?
They sing, they swing, they entertain – with well-known melodies from the 20s and 30s, cool jazz numbers, ironic Viennese songs, and even the most glorious opera classics like “O sole mio”. The musical ensemble consists of five singers from the Vienna State Opera choir – two tenors, two baritones, one bass – and their pianist. With a large dose of Viennese charm and humor, they succeed in delighting their audience again and again. With their magnificent interpretations, they transport you into the glittering world of vaudeville and stage shows of the last century and bring the world of the original Comedian Harmonists to life. Sailors sail from port to port, wondering when Marie will finally hear them, stars and stripes sparkle when the guitars play, and in the best mood, one happily realizes “the world is beautiful”. From “Der Bar zum Krokodil” to Cole Porter, from “Puttin’ on the Ritz” to Giacomo Puccini, this stage show leaves no wish unfulfilled, and good entertainment at the highest musical level is guaranteed.
