Days of Early Music

What's it about?

Our summer academy, which has taken place since 1995 in the beautiful setting of the former Augustinian Canons' Monastery, is open to (prospective) students of early music as well as appropriately trained amateurs. In August 2026, it will include courses for baroque violin/baroque viola/ensembles and harpsichord/basso continuo/ensembles, as well as a workshop on the historic organ of the basilica. For other instruments (baroque flute, recorder, viola da gamba, baroque cello, etc.), there is the possibility to participate in ensemble lessons and to take advantage of accompaniment lessons. The radiant, sonically enchanting organ (Johann Georg Mitterreither, 1739) transports one to the 17th century due to its structural features such as tonal range and disposition.
