What's it about?

Also at the Language Café Hart near Graz in Villa Kunterbunt, sewing takes place every Friday morning, along with chatting and making new friendships with migrants. Since the start of our sewing advice Saturdays at the Kostnix-Laden more than three years ago, Ms. Elke Almirdamad unpacks the sewing machine, arranges sewing accessories and an ironing board, and welcomes the first sewing clients. Immediately, technical discussions begin. "Can this zipper still be repaired? Is it worth mending this jacket? Where can I find suitable fabric?" No wonder, Elke is a passionate tailor. Besides her dedicated work for her grandchildren, the retiree and trained tailor with a master class qualification always finds time for her passion. Every second Saturday morning of the month is reserved for free sewing advice at the Kostnix-Laden.
