What's it about?

The Nikolaus play for adults takes place annually on December 5th. A few days before this rural community play, the youth of the village also performs this eerie play. The texts of this play are over 100 years old and have retained their original wording to this day. Various stories are told, such as that of the beggar who reports his misdeeds to the priest but shows no remorse. Then Death appears in the form of the Grim Reaper and knocks him to the ground. Bartl comes with a basket full of sweets for the children and wears a smiling mask from all sides. The Hell Lord Lucifer carries a trident and is held by two smaller Krampuses. The marriage devil reports on the marriages he has disrupted. Nikolaus is accompanied by an angel and questions the children about the Bible, rewarding correct answers with fruit, nuts, and sweets.
