The concert series Metamorphose begins its seventh season under the motto "Tradition in the changing of music". Tradition is understood not as a rigid heritage, but as a living force that gives rise to new things through dialogue. The season's closing concert focuses on musical openness: Philippe Gaubert's Trois Aquarelles combine impressionistic sound colors with classical clarity and surprise with Iberian influences. A new commissioned composition by Graz-based composer Philipp Gaspari references Austrian tradition and deliberately connects it with elements of other cultures. After the intermission, different musical worlds meet: the jazzy waltz Waltzin by Mario Gheorghiu plays with Viennese elegance and modern rhythm, before the Trio op. 86 by Nikolai Kapustin merges jazz and classical form into an energetic musical dialogue.
