Opening Concert Aufsteirern Festival 2026 To kick off the 25th-anniversary celebration, a special opening concert will take place on September 16, 2026, at Congress Graz. Artists and long-time companions of the festival will together create a concert evening that reflects the musical diversity of 25 years of Aufsteirern. The focus will be on the joint music-making of diverse sound worlds: from Alpine folk music to jazz and pop, and the unmistakable Oberkrainer sounds, a musical arc of tension will be created, connecting tradition and modernity. Again and again, the artists will meet in new constellations, creating special musical moments full of joy in playing and surprises. Global Kryner, Thomas Gansch, the Styrian jazz singer Simone Kopmajer, and the Härtel Family will be there. Together, they will create a concert evening where different musical styles merge and new musical encounters constantly arise. Thus, the specially curated program spans from Alpine folk music to jazz and pop, and the characteristic Oberkrainer sounds - varied, surprising, and entirely in the spirit of the musical diversity of 25 years of Aufsteirern. The specially curated concert program combines a wide variety of musical influences into a diverse overall experience and thus symbolizes the openness, diversity, and musical development of the festival over the past 25 years.
