What's it about?

Südburgenland trifft Leipzig The FabCity Forum Leipzig is closely connected this year with the conclusion of the festival "Gutes Leben Leipzig" (Good Life Leipzig). The festival is dedicated to the question of how to shape a good, solidaric, and sustainable life. The goal of the Fab-City initiative is to produce as many of the products we consume locally, in a circular manner, and as close as possible to the point of need. At the same time, ideas, concepts, and designs should be able to circulate worldwide. Together with people in other Fab Cities, we contribute to ecological, economic, and social sustainability. As the FAB Region Südburgenland, we are in active exchange with the Fab City Collective. Thanks to the organizers in Leipzig, there is an opportunity to participate online on September 19, 2026, from 14:00 to 18:00: https://meet.jit.si/FabRegionDACH Within a solution-oriented World Café, we want to develop concrete approaches for a circular and productive city together with you and other stakeholders from administration, science, business, civil society, and the maker community. The following topics are central: * regional value creation, production, and resilience * education – from daycare to adult education * forward-looking partnerships * alternative economic perspectives, especially the common good economy * development of the maker community and the FabCity vision Our goal is to develop concrete cooperation approaches, initiate joint projects, and deepen the exchange between Leipzig and Südburgenland.
