What's it about?

November 9, 1938 marks one of the darkest days in Austrian history. On the 88th anniversary of the 'Reichskristallnacht' (Night of Broken Glass), the event commemorates the Jewish victims. The event is dedicated to the respectful remembrance of victims of war, violence, and Nazi persecution, and also serves as a call for peace, reconciliation, and European unity. To honor the victims of violence and terror and as a reminder against forgetting, scientific lectures will be given by Dr. Robert Streibel (Lower Austria), Dr. Philipp Rohrbacher (Vienna), and Dr. Gerold Gruber. In the musical program, the voices of persecuted composers will be heard. For this purpose, a video installation has been commissioned from artist Elizaveta Kapustina, which will bring to light the individuals behind the compositions. The concert will feature Polish and Austrian artists connected to Vienna, Warsaw, and Krakow.
