What's it about?

Philipp Hochmair and the Sonare Linz string quartet for the 200th anniversary of Joseph von Eichendorff. Eichendorff's 'Taugenichts' (Good-for-Nothing) becomes a lively journey through German Romanticism: a young dreamer sets out into the world with his violin, encounters love, temptation, and divine providence, and finds happiness in being on the move. The story is musically accompanied with great music from German Romanticism by Felix Mendelssohn and his sister Fanny. Motifs of wandering by Franz Schubert, as well as Viennese and Italian dance music. Original songs from the novella emphasize the events.
