What's it about?

Gottfried Reszner always finds it exciting to explore the possibilities of watercolor painting. It is particularly important to him to capture the "paint-worthiness" of his immediate surroundings, the landscape of Southern Burgenland, in its apparent simplicity. However, he is equally interested in classic watercolor regions such as Tuscany or "AGAIN AND AGAIN VENICE ..." as well as other artists who have dedicated themselves to this technique. As appealing as the artistic exploration of the beauties of this unusual city is in his watercolors, it is equally challenging to generously respond to Venetian memories with the more compact possibilities of acrylic painting. They remain etched in memory, even if one has not been there for a long time, ... and thus appear even more mysterious and magical ... and sometimes even more colorful and magnificent. Inconspicuous details suddenly become more concrete and appear in a nobly subdued light, the source of which disappears into blurriness. In recent years, he has gained further exciting fields of activity as a book illustrator and in working with colored glass.Exhibition duration: September 16 to October 23, 2026 during the opening hours of the Oberschützen Cultural Center and during events.
