The former Kobersdorf Synagogue is participating in the "Long Night of Museums" for the fifth time this year. Between 6 PM and 9 PM, there will be workshops and inputs all about Shabbat: "What is Shabbat? Why does it start on Friday evening? What special features, rules, and rituals need to be observed? Why do you need two candles?" Experience Shabbat with all your senses: In this combined workshop, we will braid small challah breads (Shabbat breads) and decorate Shabbat candles together. Participants will learn more about the meaning of light, bread, and community on the Jewish day of rest in a creative and playful way. The self-made challot and candles can be taken home as a personal souvenir. An interactive evening for families, culture enthusiasts, and anyone who wants to learn about Shabbat. 6:00 PM - 00:00 AM: continuous free viewing possible 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM: open workshops & inputs Short introduction: What is Shabbat? (Meaning, rules, rituals, special features) Parallel: two craft stations (participants can join at any time) Event program and info: langenacht.orf.at
