52 min, Original language: German A new TV documentary by Thomas Hackl and Martina Hechenberger illuminates the mass murder by the Nazi regime in Hartheim Castle in Upper Austria, based on current research findings and statements from contemporary witnesses. Traces of the lives of victims, perpetrators, resistance fighters, and castle neighbors show, through their personal fates and experiences, how this horrific extermination system functioned. Despite the concealment and destruction of evidence even before the end of World War II, files, photographs, artifacts, and data of those people whose lives were closely intertwined with Hartheim or ended there continue to emerge.
