Masterpieces with needle and thread. A fascinating special exhibition that tells of skilled hands, ancient techniques, and a craft that interweaves history, identity, and beauty. In the Bregenzerwald, embroidery has a long tradition. Passed down through generations, it still shapes the appearance of the Bregenzerwälder Juppe – one of the oldest and most exclusive traditional costumes in the Alpine region. The exhibition "I'm going embroidering!" is dedicated to this fine craft and shows original embroideries as well as different techniques and areas of application. At the same time, it provides insights into the cultural and social history of a region where textile craftsmanship has been cultivated for centuries. Combine your exhibition visit with a tour through the Juppenwerkstatt Riefensberg. Here, according to old recipes and on historical machines, glossy linen pleats are still produced – the deep black, shiny fabric of the Bregenzerwälder Juppe, laid in countless folds. Exciting insights into the production, live craftsmanship during registered guided tours, and the extraordinary architecture of the house make your stay a special cultural experience in the Bregenzerwald. Opening hours (May to October) Tuesday, 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM Friday, 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM & 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM
