What's it about?
In a suburb, two teenagers meet who are struggling with their identities and searching for belonging and acceptance: Dom and Fred are at the threshold between childhood and adulthood, between the expectations placed on them and the desire to simply be themselves. Dom was born a girl but does not feel very feminine and actually wants nothing to do with binary gender assignments; Fred prefers to wear tight jeans and makeup, even though he only wants to be considered 'normal.' Their meeting point is a cliff overlooking a bridge leading to a city where everything seems possible — a utopian place of longing where they could be who they wish to be. They make a pact: one day, they will cross the bridge together. But the reality at their school and in their environment keeps them anchored. Bullying, insecurity, and the fear of not being accepted weigh on them. They grow closer, then drift apart again, learning to stand up for themselves — even when it is difficult. Sylvestre's play tells of friendship, exploring one's own identity, and the courage to follow one's path undeterred. It raises questions about belonging and self-determination without relying on quick labels like 'transgender' or 'homosexual.' The focus is always on what moves Dom and Fred deep inside — creating moments where the boundaries between reality and longing blur.
