GEHspräch: Seating

What's it about?

Seating options are more than just benches - they create places for resting, waiting, and meeting. Ideally, they offer shade and enable people to manage their daily routes. For many people, benches are an important prerequisite for being able to get around - for example, people with mobility impairments, older people, or those with several small children. During this "GEHspräch" (walking discussion), we will jointly explore the walkability in the Franckviertel and Bulgariplatz districts and address, among other things, these questions: Where are benches suitable for a rest and where would we like to see them? Where is there shade on everyday sidewalks? Do we all make it across the pedestrian traffic light on green? Are the bus stations and waiting areas at traffic lights designed to be age-appropriate and heat-resistant? The "Linz mit Ambitio3xn" Pioneer City team will present the "Mobil im Alter" (Mobile in Old Age) project: Together, we will look at where benches are missing for older people and how we can make the paths in the district simpler and more pleasant.
