Covered Up - Landestheater Bregenz
What's it about?
Everything is different this season: the venue is being renovated, we have to temporarily vacate our usual performance space, move around, and find new places where theater can take place. What remains are the people, the ensemble — and the desire to continue playing, to keep telling stories. With our song evening, we seize this momentum. Familiar songs leave their sound world, the genre that is their home. A pop hit tries a rockier style. A driving number becomes a gentle ballad. Songs shift, leave their solid ground, and rediscover themselves in unexpected dimensions. Thus, COVERED UP AND OUT OF PLACE becomes a wandering between musical genres. Everything is familiar, yet nothing remains quite as you know it. Music goes on a journey, along with the idea of where it seemingly naturally and immovably has its place: this is where a special energy lies. An evening of songs that does not claim to have arrived, but joyfully seeks its way. And makes it felt that even in the unfamiliar, there is always something familiar.
