Covered Up - Landestheater Bregenz
What's it about?
Everything is different this season: the theater building is being renovated, and we have to temporarily vacate our usual venue, move around, and find new places where theater can take place. What remains are the people, the ensemble — and the desire to continue performing, to keep telling stories. With our song evening, we embrace this momentum. Familiar songs leave their usual sound world, the genre that is their home. A pop hit tries a rockier style. A driving tune becomes a gentle ballad. Songs shift, leave their solid ground, and discover themselves anew in unexpected dimensions. Thus, COVERED UP AND OUT OF PLACE becomes a wandering between musical genres. Everything is familiar, yet nothing remains quite as you know it. Music goes on a journey, along with the idea of where it seemingly has its natural and unshakeable place: this is where a special energy lies. A song evening that does not claim to have arrived, but joyfully seeks its way. And it lets you feel that even in the unfamiliar, there is always something familiar.
