Das Vamperl
What's it about?
No, that can't be true!" thinks Mrs. Lizzi as she discovers a tiny, green vampire in her apartment while cleaning. But the curious little creature does exist — and it is very different from the dark beings known from vampire stories. Because the Vamperl does not drink blood. Instead, it has a very special ability: whenever it encounters people who swear, lie, or hurt others, the strange foundling sets to work and sucks the evil out of them. It makes them a little friendlier, a little more patient, and helps them to treat themselves and others a bit better. The stories about DAS VAMPERL humorously and tenderly depict our world, where anger, conflict, and injustice are everyday occurrences. They show that everyone carries dark sides within and that change is possible. Not with a moralizing tone, but with a childlike attention to the small things that hurt others unintentionally. We bring Renate Welsh's poetic world to the stage as a family play and tell stories of friendship, responsibility, and hope that good can be stronger than evil in people. A story for children and adults alike, joyful, clever, and full of optimism.
