What's it about?

When someone collapses on the street, injures themselves at school or at work, providing first aid is obvious. But what if someone next to us is crying, appears depressed, is apathetic or desperate? What then? What can we do if the soul is in acute distress? Trained instructors will provide knowledge about mental illnesses in adolescence as well as skills in conversation techniques to support young people in psychological crises during 14 teaching units. The seminar is aimed at adults who live with or work with young people — such as parents, relatives, teachers, trainers, or professionals. The goal is to recognize warning signs early, approach young people, and refer them to professional help. This seminar is not training to become (lay) therapists. It is not about diagnosing or treating people, but about providing competent 'first aid' for the soul in the best sense of the word. The offering is open to private individuals as well as companies and institutions.
