Field Excursion to the Soil Profile
What's it about?
Soil scientist Walter Fitz takes interested participants on a discovery journey into the soil. A soil profile reveals how the layers are built up and what functions the soil and its inhabitants fulfill. Participants will learn the spade method, which allows for an easy assessment of their own garden soil. Additionally, various soil augers will be used. Through practical exercises and expert guidance, a new perspective on what lies beneath our feet will open up. The event is free of charge and open to all interested members of the public.
