There are careers that seem like carefully planned projects — and others that are driven by almost mythical chance. In the case of Picture This, it all begins with a shaky iPhone video from Athy, Ireland, a place the band members retrospectively describe as "a gray in-between zone full of quirky characters." Ryan Hennessy, then more a footballer than a musician, sings a self-written song into his phone camera. "Take My Hand" becomes a viral sensation overnight — and the starting point for one of the most remarkable Irish pop careers of the past decade. Drummer Jimmy Rainsford, exhausted from touring and back at his parents' house, recognizes in Hennessy’s voice a rare, raw talent. This leads to a call, then initial recordings, and eventually Owen Cardiff and Cliff Deane join the band. What begins in rural Athy quickly grows beyond national borders: number-one albums, sold-out halls, anthemic songs that combine intimate feelings with stadium-sized power. Despite their pop appeal, their music remains infused with the emotional directness characteristic of many Irish artists — the courage to tell stories of pain and hope without filters. This sensitivity is also evident in the new single released on October 10, "Yours Forever." A breakup ballad capturing the quiet, almost embarrassing moment when you know: the other has long moved on, but your heart still lags behind helplessly. "Know you’re no longer mine / But I’ll be yours forever," is not a pathetic vow but an acknowledgment of a feeling that remains, no matter how much you resist. But Picture This truly become unstoppable live. After over 30 summer shows across Europe, an Australian tour, and recently 45,000 tickets sold in under an hour for their Christmas concerts in Belfast and Dublin, it is clear: this band has made the leap from intimate phone recordings to a major pop-rock eruption. Their shows resemble collective acts of liberation, carried by Hennessy’s crystal-clear voice, Rainsford’s unwavering drive, and the unfiltered energy of a band that knows exactly what it can mean to people. In fall 2026, Picture This will come to Austria for two concerts.
