Invitation Schwendtage 2026Dear citizens of Übersaxen, the maintenance of our Alps, forests, and protected areas is an important task that contributes significantly to the preservation of our cultural landscape. With the regularly held Schwendtage, the Agrargemeinschaft Übersaxen ensures that valuable areas remain open, protective forests are maintained, and the landscape is preserved in the long term. The municipality of Übersaxen holds a 34% share in the Agrargemeinschaft. This means that a significant part of the work carried out benefits not only the members of the Agrargemeinschaft but the entire population. Many of the areas maintained by the Agrargemeinschaft are used by locals and guests as hiking and recreation areas. At the same time, our protective forests fulfill an important function in protecting settlements, traffic routes, and agricultural areas from natural hazards. With the Schwendtage, we jointly contribute to the preservation of this valuable landscape. The most important tasks include: the maintenance and keeping open of the Alps, the preservation and maintenance of protective forests, the promotion of diverse flora and fauna, the maintenance of our local recreation areas, as well as the preservation of a varied and well-maintained cultural landscape. These tasks can only be accomplished with the support of committed helpers. Every helping hand contributes to preserving our landscape and distributing the workload among many shoulders. After the work is done, refreshments are, of course, provided – the Schwendtage offer an opportunity to do something meaningful for our homeland together and to end the day in a convivial atmosphere. Planned Schwendtage 2026 Saturday, August 1 – Alpe Gulm Saturday, August 22 – Alpe Schwemme Saturday, August 29 – Alpe Portla First Schwendtag – Alpe Gulm Meeting point: Saturday, August 1, at 08:00 AM at the ski lift parking lot. We will work until approximately 3:00 PM. Drinks and a snack will be provided during the work. Each hour of work will be compensated with € 20,-. Afterwards, we will end the day with a cozy get-together with grilled food. Further alternative dates for September will be set if needed and announced in good time. We cordially invite all citizens of Übersaxen to participate in the Schwendtage – regardless of whether you are a member of the Agrargemeinschaft or not. With your commitment, you make a valuable contribution to the preservation of our nature, our protective forests, and our local recreation areas. Thank you for your support.
