Justina Lee Brown is an award-winning Nigerian Afro, Funk, Soul, and Blues singer and songwriter living in Europe, as well as a versatile entertainer. Born and raised in the slums of Ajegunle and Kirirki in Lagos, Nigeria, the story of Justina Lee Brown, whose full name is Justina Ogunlolu, is an inspiring true story about making lemonade out of lemons. Justina began singing on the streets as a child to pass the time, helping her mother sell "ice water" at the neighboring Udoh Market in Lagos. People quickly noticed her and gave her tips to encourage Justina to continue. Knowing that her voice made passing strangers happy filled her with joy and gave her a sense of purpose, which led her to put her feelings into music. In 2006, the singer took first place in Nokia's First Chance reality singing competition in Nigeria. In the same year, Justina took her first step towards fame with the release of her hit single "Omo 2 Sexy." Her fame soon extended beyond the booming Nigerian music scene, and the young pop star won the "Women In Entertainment Award" for "Best African Voice" in London in 2009. Over the years and with two solid studio albums in her discography, "Black And White Feeling" and "Lost Child," Lee Brown and her high-profile band have received an impressive list of accolades. She won the Swiss Blues Challenge in 2019, made it to the semifinals of the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, USA, in 2020, and took second place for Switzerland at the European Blues Challenge in Malmö, Sweden, in 2022. She was also nominated for the Swiss Blues Awards 2022 and performed with her band as the opening act for Italian singer, songwriter, and musician Zucchero at the Sierre Blues Festival in the same year, in front of around 40,000 spectators. In 2023, she became an ambassador for the Sierre Blues Festival. And recently, she was honored with the Swiss Blues Award 2024. This also includes her remarkable performance at the Blues n Jazz Festival in Rappersvill (Switzerland) in 2023, where she performed in front of more than 60,000 spectators and became one of the highlights of the event.
