I Am From Austria
What's it about?
When cheering spectators jump from their seats and sing along to STS's "Fürstenfeld," raise their arms in the air during Ambros's "Skifoan," or know every line of Fendrich's "Macho Macho" by heart, they are probably at one of the sold-out concerts of "I am from Austria," the largest Austro-Pop show in Europe. In this lively revue, Austrian pop makes a spectacular comeback: as a big party with an "overdose of feeling," which, thanks to elaborate technology, can be felt even in the last row. With lots of humor, joy of performance, and authenticity, the musicians of "I am from Austria" ignite a fireworks of hits on stage that has written international history for decades. And once again, it shows which brilliant songwriters and artists Austro-Pop has produced over the years. "That's where I come from, that's where I belong! – I am from Austria!" The fun-filled yet touching musical journey traverses the inexhaustible hit repertoire of Austro-Pop, including classics like "Großvater" by STS, "Weiße Pferde" by Georg Danzer, or "Weilst a Herz hast wia a Bergwerk" by Rainhard Fendrich. The quieter songs beyond the chart-toppers regularly send shivers down the spine, including Karl Preyer's "Romeo und Julia," Ostbahnkurtis's "Feuer," Hubert von Goisern's "Weit weit weg," or "Flying High" by Opus. The audience especially loves this show because of the well-thought-out mix of selected milestones from Austrian music history! And since playing all of them would be too much, some of these hits are combined into cleverly arranged medleys.
