What's it about?

Viennese humor in word and sound – an evening full of charm, music, and stories. Two artists from Vienna, who are actually at home in classical music, humorously address the question of whether the famous "Golden Viennese Heart" actually exists. Cabaret songs alternate with cheerful stories about Vienna, popular Viennese songs meet rare rarities – an evening full of sprightliness, smiles, and musical sophistication. Paul Faderny was born in Vienna and studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts with Harald Ossberger, Klara Harrer-Baranyi, Wolfgang Glüxam, and Alois Glassner. Since 2007, he has lived in Vorarlberg, teaches at the Dornbirn Music School and the Pedagogical University, works as a répétiteur and pianist, and conducts choirs in Vorarlberg, Switzerland, Germany, and Liechtenstein. This creates lively musical encounters, both as a pianist and as a conductor. Michael C. Havlicek, also born in Vienna, debuted at the Vienna Volksoper in 2011 and has been a permanent ensemble member there ever since. International appearances have taken him to the Opéra Bastille in Paris, the Musiktheater Linz, the Lech Classic Festival, and the Zurich Opera House, among others. In addition to opera roles, he delights as an interpreter of classical Viennese songs, reciter, and creator of cabaret songs from the post-war period. In 2020, he co-founded the program "Viennese Entertainment Music 1850–1950," which has since been successfully performed at the traditional venue Schönbrunn. This year, he can also be heard in "La Traviata" at the Bregenz Festival. Together, Paul Faderny and Michael C. Havlicek transport the audience into the world of Viennese humor: sometimes thoughtful, sometimes lively, always entertaining. An evening for all who appreciate Viennese songs, classical music, and the humorous side of Viennese culture. The concert takes place in the Douglass Hall of Villa Falkenhorst.
