Barbara Blaha - Funkenschwestern

What's it about?

Barbara Blaha knows what she's talking about. Growing up as a child in a working-class family with many siblings but little money, she knows the feeling of being overlooked. Her previous stage programs were an overwhelming success: thousands have already seen her, every show was sold out. In her new program Funkenschwestern and the book of the same name, she combines personal stories with numbers, facts, and studies and shows why economic questions are always also feminist questions. She makes visible why women are less often allowed to lead, are interrupted more often, and are paid less. She points out that in industries with a high proportion of women, wages fall and even a full-time job does not protect against the second unpaid shift at home.
