Auf zwei Rädern - A bicyclette - LeinwandLounge - Programmkino
What's it about?
France 2024, 89 minutes, French with original subtitles. Director: Mathias Mlekuz Cast: Mathias Mlekuz, Philippe Rebbot, Josef Mlekuz Sometimes looking back shows the way forward: together with his best friend Philippe and dog Lucky, filmmaker Mathias gets on a bicycle and embarks on an unusual and personal trip across Europe. The chaotic trio follows the route that Mathias' late son Youri took a few years earlier — from the French Atlantic coast to the Black Sea. What begins as a quiet search for traces turns into a surprisingly cheerful adventure full of unexpected encounters. With each stage, the two friends approach loss in a touching and humorous way — and still celebrate life. "A beautiful hymn to friendship" (Allocine) "A true wonder" (Le Point) "Tender, funny, and mischievous" (L’Humanité) "A moving and funny film" (20 Minutes) "This film celebrates the love of life, even in its most painful moments or despite everything. You could immediately be friends with these two men. Everyone can consider themselves lucky to have the other. And we are fortunate to see them on the big screen." (Le Parisien) "A road movie unfolding between humor, melancholy, and quiet mourning that resonates long after." (FAQ Magazin)
