Invitation to an information event on the topic "Bear Presence in the District of Landeck" When: Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 8:00 PM Where: Gymnasium of the elementary school in Pfunds, Stuben 253, 6542 Pfunds In recent years, the occurrence of a bear in the district of Landeck has been confirmed multiple times. This year, a bear was confirmed as the cause of several attacks. At the same time, there are currently no indications that the bear is deliberately approaching humans or residential areas. Encounters or sightings near people have not been reported so far. The municipalities of the Upper and Supreme Court in the district of Landeck have now approached the state of Tyrol with a request to hold an information event on the topic "Bear Presence in the District of Landeck." The state of Tyrol is responding to this request and will inform interested parties together with a nationally and internationally recognized expert. Based on facts, the existing monitoring will be explained, a legal assessment of possible measures will be provided, and typical bear behaviors will be clarified. The renowned wildlife biologist Paolo Molinari, along with experts from the state of Tyrol and the Tyrolean Hunting Association, will be available with their expertise and for questions. Interested? Places will be allocated in the order of registration received (there are limited spots available). You can register from now until Monday, September 28, 2026, at the latest. Parking is available near the elementary school at Ensplatz.
