What's it about?

"THE END OF HUMAN RACE" is more than an art exhibition – it is a global art project and an emotional message to humanity. The Tyrolean artist Alexander Maria Lohmann addresses the most pressing questions of our time: climate crisis, species extinction, artificial intelligence, glacier melting. In Sölden – at the Rettenbach Glacier – the worldwide project begins with seven large-scale works (up to 4.5 meters high) and ten reflective silhouettes. Some of these are partially submerged in the glacier, others integrated into the landscape – and all change over time due to wind, weather, and the passage of time. Just as we must also change. The exhibition is freely accessible, embedded in the natural landscape, and can be explored individually during a glacier visit.
