What's it about?

William Trane Coltrane (* September 23, 1926, in Hamlet, North Carolina / † July 17, 1967, in New York) celebrates his 100th birthday in 2026, as does his long-time playing partner Miles Davis. Saxophonist Florian Bramböck pays tribute to his role model, with a lineup that reads like the Who's Who of the Tyrolean jazz scene. The bandleader promises only so much: two milestones from John Coltrane's illustrious career will be featured in the program: A Love Supreme & My Favorite Things! "Jazz has not recovered from Coltrane's death," says Archie Shepp, one of the jazz greats who played with Trane. A celebration for Trane, the highly revered master teacher, who also said: "Whoever has the swing cannot march in step." Performers: Florian Bramböck – saxophones Romed Hopfgartner – saxophones Martin Ohrwalder – trumpet Robert Sölkner – piano Rupert Kirchmair – piano Walter Singer – bass Max Schrott – drums Reduced tickets are available for people under 18, pupils, students, people with disabilities and their companions, civil service volunteers, conscripts, the unemployed, and parents on parental leave.
