What's it about?
On March 15, 1947, Zarah Leander spends her 40th birthday alone on a estate in Sweden. The once celebrated singer has been ostracized and unemployed after the end of the Nazi regime – and is haunted by the voices of her past. Brigitte Jaufenthaler reflects in Peter Lund's musical monologue, with sharp wit, on a career that spans art, success, political indifference, and personal responsibility. She is accompanied at the piano by Christian Wegscheider. Recommended from age 14.
