South Tyrol and Estonia were both shaped by the great upheavals of the 20th century. Both began the century as part of a larger, multi-ethnic state and were reshaped in the course of changing borders. A border region is rarely a place where clear identities meet along a sharp dividing line. It is a place where belonging is multifaceted, spans languages, and is difficult to define. "Drawing Lines" brings together contemporary artists from both regions and invites viewers to reflect on what can be learned from places that have lived with change, with more than one history, and with the resulting consequences.
