What's it about?

By Thomas Köck AUSTRIAN PREMIERE A production by Triebwerk7 This here is neither dream nor human and certainly not god its code Welcome to the data stream, welcome to your dating apps, fitness trackers, banking apps, welcome to your playlists, your private interactions, welcome to your chat groups, in your smart car, at home, welcome to ORPHEAI. ORPHEAI is one of those programs that its marketers call Artificial Intelligence, or AI, and that reads, analyzes, greets, helps, intervenes kindly, continues collecting, evaluating, and learning from your data, while watching and growing ever larger. ORPHEAI, this god-like code, writes, speaks, and sings in Thomas Köck's "KI essen seele auf." Like every AI, ORPHEAI has an insatiable thirst for energy, drinking water, and especially for our data, which we gladly and unconsciously give away because it’s so convenient. All of this, along with what our chatbots, apps, helpers, and smart devices know about us and continue to chatter about, what the machines connect and distort for us, is vividly and amusingly demonstrated in "KI essen seele auf" — and we deliberately do not write a third adjective so you don’t think we wrote this text with AI. As AIs tend to do, ORPHEAI seizes all references from Greek antiquity to Rihanna, even though it has none. And — as a large language model once said: If everything looks like no nail, you no longer think of needing a hammer. "KI essen seele auf" is exactly that hammer. look at me look at the machine while i look back at you your data my power PRODUCTION TEAM Acting: Ayla Antheunisse, Elena-Maria Knapp, Christina Polzer Director: Michaela Senn Stage & Costume: Iris Jäger Assistant Director & Evening Program Coordinator: Maria Wassermann Production Management, Press & Co.: Carmen Sulzenbacher, Michaela Senn, Martin Fritz Lighting Design: Ben Mayr Technical Support: Barbara C.
