Schlegeisgrund in the Course of Time

What's it about?

The Schlegeisgrund has changed significantly due to the expansion of hydropower. Today it is one of the top excursion destinations in the Zillertal. But where today the azure-blue Schlegeis reservoir lies at 1,800 m above sea level, until 1965 there was a species-rich alpine pasture with the popular Dominikushütte. The hike illuminates both the fascinating natural area and its transformation through the construction of the reservoir and tourist use. The hike leads along the reservoir and to a great viewpoint into the Zamsergrund. Together with the hike, a dam wall tour after the respective tour has been arranged for the participants of both groups.
