Tradition & Summit Experience – Hike to the Hundstoaranggeln

What's it about?

Early in the morning, we start together at the Abergbahn and take the gondola into the mountains. From the mountain station, we hike along idyllic alpine and mountain paths up to the Hundstein. The special morning atmosphere in the impressive mountain and alpine landscape makes this physically very demanding tour an unforgettable experience. Once at the top, we enjoy an impressive 360° panoramic view of the Steinernes Meer, the Hochkönig, and the Hohe Tauern. At our destination, the traditional Jakobiranggeln (a form of wrestling) awaits us on the Hundstoa at the Statzerhaus. Ranggeln is part of UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage and is one of the oldest traditional events in Salzburger Land. Together we experience the festive mountain mass and then follow the exciting Ranggel competitions up close. Return journey: The return journey is individual with the available taxi shuttle from the mountain (approx. €19 per person).
