PolandZbigniew Chojnacki - modular accordionThe only constant in the music of Polish accordionist Zbigniew is his instrument. What the 34-year-old virtuoso does with it is a matter of mood - and different every time. Influenced by British punk rock, Berlin techno, the classical music of his homeland, American jazz and every conceivable music in the world, he makes his modular accordion sound with "techniques borrowed from piano works". But it can also be "an old washing machine, a blade of grass, the engine noise of a bus or even a chair in the middle of a stage" that is inspiring. As a "hunter of interesting people", he has already performed with bassist Joëlle Léandre, singer Anna Gadt, vibraphonist Yuhan Su or drummer Ramon Prats.
