The bass stoically draws its lines, the drummer heats up with polyrhythms like a lovechild of Yussef Dayes and Makaya McCraven, the saxophonist loves Johnny Hodges and Ornette Coleman equally, and the vibraphonist has also done his homework from Bobby Hutcherson to Roy Ayers and transforms their insights into his own melodic magic.
