Already today, 21% of the Austrian population is over 65 years old. By 2050, this age group will grow to 27% of the total population. At the same time, birth rates are declining. While a woman in Austria in 1965 on average had 2.7 children, the current fertility rate is about 1.3 children. In short: the number of older people in need of care is increasing, while the number of people of working age is decreasing. What does this mean for the care sector in Austria? How can we as a society and as individuals prepare for this development? How are communities preparing for this challenge? Moderator Stefan Veigl discusses these issues with experts from science, practice, and politics. After the panel discussions, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and share ideas.
