
From Mayrhofen train station, we walk a short distance towards Schwendau and then turn onto the Hippach-Schwendau forest path. After about 25 minutes, we reach the Horbergbahn valley station. Our ascent begins at the old Zimmerhäusl mill, which was the only one of eight mills spared from the 1946 flood. Now begins the partly stony and rooty path, which leads us through mixed forest past the "Wilde Mann Schrofen". Before we reach the waterfall area, there is still a narrow passage to master. We can then enjoy the impressive waterfall up close. As an added bonus, we climb to the viewpoint with a great valley view. We hike to the Keiler Höfe and from there back to Mayrhofen.
