What's it about?
The guided ranger tour starts at the National Park info hut at the Mooserboden mountain restaurant. From here, the path leads slightly downhill, with views of the impressive reservoirs and extensive alpine meadows. Along the way, the ranger provides interesting facts about alpine nature, the animal and plant world, and the history of the reservoirs and the Hohe Tauern National Park. Small streams and typical high-alpine flora line the path before finally reaching the Fürthermooralm. The alm offers a nice resting place amidst the mountains before the tour leads back along the same route to the Mooserboden mountain restaurant. Sometimes, griffon vultures can be observed in their roosting wall from the starting point of the tour.
