What's it about?

Your Alm:Zeit begins with a change of perspective: You take the Schlossalmbahn cable car comfortably up to the mountain station – and leave everyday life step by step in the valley. From there, the hike leads you across the wide alpine pastures of the Leidalm into a landscape that has been farmed for generations. Between grazing areas, mountain flowers, and the gentle sound of cowbells, you experience the quiet strength of summer in the mountains. The destination is an original, rustic alpine hut. During a cozy stop, you encounter authentic alpine tradition – unadulterated, down-to-earth, and warm. The return journey leads through the forest to the middle station and once again impressively connects the contrasts of this tour: modern mountain railway and traditional alpine farming, panorama and silence, comfort and nature. Participation in guided hikes is free with the Gastein Card! Cable car rides with the Schlossalmbahn and consumptions are charged separately. Good equipment and mountain/hiking shoes are recommended.
