Leonhardi-Fest

What's it about?

In honor of Saint Leonard, the patron saint of domestic animals, the traditional Leonhardi-Fest takes place. A procession from the mountain railway parking lot to the market square is held, where a festive Holy Mass with subsequent animal blessing is conducted. Afterwards, the procession returns to the mountain railway parking lot, where a cozy gathering with food and drink awaits the visitors. All animals are warmly welcome – whether ridden, harnessed, carried, or led. The horse farmers from Großarl and Hüttschlag look forward to numerous participants and visitors! Note: In case of bad weather, the event will be canceled, and the Holy Mass will be held in the church.
