Samsontanz with the Schützengarde & Bürgermusik

What's it about?

The Samsontanz at Katschberg takes place on August 15, 2026, at 10:30 AM on the Katschberghöhe, from Hotel Hinteregger to Hotel Cristallo. This biblical hero figure is the emblem of the Salzburger Lungau region. Therefore, it is often displayed at festivals. It is carried on the shoulders of a strong young man who skillfully balances the weight of the traveling figure using a framework inside the hollow body. The fascination of the giant captivates young and old, locals and visitors alike.
