Foot Pilgrimage to the Filzmooser Kindl

Foot Pilgrimage to the Filzmooser Kindl

Sunday 4 OctoberDürrmoos Lungötz · salzburg

What's it about?

The Filzmooser Kindl, one of the few remaining pilgrimage sites dedicated to the Infant Jesus, hangs as the centerpiece of the church in a golden halo above the high altar. The richly embroidered "Gnadenröckl" (robe of grace) is changed according to the time of year: golden for Christmas, white for Easter, red for Pentecost and throughout the year. The church was first mentioned as a pilgrimage church in 1507. Even today, pilgrims from all over the world come to draw strength from the Infant Jesus, to find healing and salvation from distress.Every first Sunday in October, pilgrims from Annaberg and Lungötz gather and walk over the "Sattel" to Neuberg and from there along the road to Filzmoos, where a joint mass is celebrated. Return home individually.Click here for the blog post about the pilgrimage to get in the mood.
