Edelweiß forever - Landscape, Music and Traditional Costume

What's it about?

Already in the first half of the 20th century, Salzburg's landscape, music, and traditional costume were used for tourism marketing. Films like "The Sound of Music" shaped the image of the region worldwide. The exhibition "Edelweiß forever" in the Monatsschlössl illuminates these themes from three perspectives: in the film "The Sound of Music", through the von Trapp family, and in the development of Salzburg in the 1950s/60s. It complements the Sound of Music Salzburg in Hellbrunn, opening in 2026.
